Last night I mentioned that we added a new brew to the tap lineup: Tallgrass Winter Stout.
Tallgrass Brewing Company is a microbrewery located just down the interstate in Manhattan, KS, but don't hold that against them. It was founded in 2007 by Jeff and Tricia Gill.
The Sandbar has featured Tallgrass before and it was a hit. Currently, we are one of the lucky few who carry their new seasonal brew, Winter Stout. According to their website, it seems that the only other place in town you can get it is Old Chicago. The feedback on the new beer has been good, so in October 2009 it will become a regular seasonal.
Take a look around their website- you can read about how the brewery was founded, ask a homebrewing question, or find out where to buy Tallgrass for yourself. You can even make the drive west to take a tour of the brewery. That would be a fun road trip.
Let us know what you think of the Winter Stout, or any other Tallgrass brew.
I don’t mind Tallgrss beer. It’s a bit hoppy for my taste, almost like they mixed an IPA with each batch. I’ll give the stout a try cuz I dig the Guiness. We’ll see how it compares.
When are you going to get Rootbeer back on tap?
I think I got rid of the rootbeer taste…..
I would love to have root beer back on tap!
Pants, let us know what you think of the Winter Stout. You know we eagerly await your wisdom.
Ah, Pants wisdom deep as summer pool and clear as summer sky. Must go meditate.
