Last year, we didn't find out about Repeal Day until after it had happened. Yes, we can turn any holiday into a drinking holiday, but this is one of the few holidays to actually celebrate the ability to have a drink.
Repeal Day is tomorrow, December 5. What is it? Well, on this day in 1933, Utah (of all states) was the final state needed for a three quarters majority to ratify the 21st amendment- more commonly known as the amendment which repealed Prohibition and restored your right to have a drink.
Visit the official website for more information about this holiday. They give three very good reasons to celebrate:
- It's the perfect time of year.
- You have the constitutional ability to do so.
- It's easy! (my favorite reason)
So, stop by The Sandbar tomorrow and have a glass of wine or a Bahama Mama or your favorite beer, just because you can. As always, please be responsible.
We were there, Deb, where were you? Ugh, they should repeal hangovers…
