A group Sandbar Thursday night regulars graduated a few years ago and presented us with a gift:

For two years, between 2003 and 2005, this group of six friends (Nicki, Johnna, Clint, Jenn, Erin, and Lindsey) drank Bahama Mamas and collected beads. They gave The Sandbar a wooden oar, decorated with a bunch of their beads and a credit-card-inspired poem.

Bahama Mamas: $2.00
Drunken Nights: Countless
Time Spent at The Sandbar: Priceless!

The oar now occupies a spot high up on our wall. Unfortunately, we’ve had to discipline other bar patrons for trying to steal beads from the oar, especially on Mardi Gras. It’s not cool to steal things from our walls, people.
