The annual Walk MS, a fundraiser for the National MS Society, is coming up on April 28. The Sandbar has a team walking again this year.
Our friend Courtney, a regular patron from the 90s, was diagnosed with MS several years ago. We also have a number of other friends who have MS, and bartender Danny has been a huge fundraising machine for years now through Bike MS.
Courtney's Sandbar walk team has a donation page here. We'd love it if you made a donation, large or small, to our team. Our team's fundraising goal is $3000.

Bartender Danny's Bike MS team, the Fun Police, stopped by the Sandbar on Saturday after biking 70 miles! They started in Olathe and made their way to Lawrence for an afternoon at the Gears & Grooves for MS Festival, followed by camping overnight at South Park.
The Sandbar helped sponsor the Fun Police this year, so our logo was on their fancy new jerseys.
After posing outside for a few pictures, the Fun Police came inside for drinks and shotskis.
Thanks, Fun Police, for everything you do. I checked out their Bike MS fundraising page, and I was amazed. The Fun Police's fundraising goal this year was $15,000- and they not only reached that goal, they went way over it with $17,333.79. That is fantastic! And it looks like (at least at this point), our boy Danny raised the most money with $3,105. Way to go!

We love to see our friends, customers and employees doing good things for the community, and bartender Danny is a rock star. He's getting ready to ride in his fourth Bike MS, a fundraiser for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
In his first three rides, Danny raised $600, $1000 and $1200, and so far this year he's raised a whopping $1600! Go Danny!
The Sandbar is a big supporter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. Many of us here unfortunately know several people impacted by multiple sclerosis. Last year we sponsored a team in the Lawrence Walk MS event, and we had a great time raising money and walking.
One year Danny shaved his head when he met his fundraising goal. Another year he grew a mustache. And kept it around for awhile.
We don't see Danny as much as we used to since he moved to Kansas City for nursing school, but donating a few dollars to his efforts would be a great way to let him know how much you appreciate all those shots he's poured.
