Successful block party & video contest!
Our 21st birthday block party was a smashing success! Thanks to everyone for celebrating with us!
And, congratulations to Kim, the winner of our hurricane video contest!

Our first hurricane video contest was a great success, with 503 total votes cast. Kim had the winning entry, "don't pick up guys during a hurricane," with 47% of the vote. She wins free subs from Sandbar Subs for a year, and her video clip will be featured in the next hurricane video. Be sure to watch for details of the video premiere!

Block Party Saturday; Video Voting Open!
The Sandbar's 21st birthday block party is this Saturday, August 14, and voting is open in our hurricane video contest through August 16.
Be sure to get downtown on Saturday, August 14, and help the Sandbar celebrate its birthday! We're finally legal and celebrating 21 years in beautiful downtown Lawrence. The street in front of the bar will close at 1 p.m and party events start at 5 p.m.
The event is family-friendly and will feature live music with three bands, including Stomper, Katlyn Conroy & the Wild and Wooly, and Mark Valentine and the Ones. We'll also have a beer garden (must be 21 to enter) and water, soda, food and t-shirts for sale.

Our hurricane video contest is in full swing. We received nine entries and the polls are open! Vote until next Monday, August 16, for your favorite video clip. The winning entry will be featured in our next hurricane video, and the winner will receive free sandwiches for a year from Sandbar Subs, now open in the Zarco66 on East 23rd Street.
